Tom Klein, Asaf Shchori, and the recorded voice of Nathan Zach
Many of Nathan Zach’s poems have been set to music and have become cultural cornerstones of Israeli life. This trio seeks to deconstruct that familiarity — to emphasize Zach’s eccentricity and sense of alienation, inviting us to listen anew to the voice of a gentle, human, and skeptical man. In an era where Israeli discourse has become increasingly polarized and aggressive, Zach’s quiet irony, and the doubt and melancholy that recur throughout his poetry, offer a sharp contrast and, perhaps, a sense of solace.
